Truventory Privacy Policy
Truventory is a room-by-room home inventory app. This policy describes what the app does on your device. Truventory does not file insurance claims, contact insurers, or guarantee any payout.
Short version
- Inventory stays on this phone. No account. Nothing is uploaded.
- No ads. No analytics SDK in this version.
- You may save a backup file locally or share it yourself.
- Uninstalling the app deletes the local inventory and photos.
- PDF leaves the device when you Save or Share (Truventory Pro).
Who this covers
This policy applies to the Truventory mobile app (iOS and Android), bundle / application id
com.truventory.truventory, published by the developer named on the App Store and
Play listings. Contact that listing email for privacy questions. There is no Truventory account.
Data the app stores on your device
Truventory keeps a local inventory so it can work without a network:
- Home name and optional address you type
- Room names
- Item names, estimated values, serial numbers, notes
- File paths to item and receipt photos you attach
- A local “unlocked” flag if you subscribe to or restore Truventory Pro
Photos you take or pick are copied into the app’s documents folder on that device. Search happens on-device. The developer of Truventory cannot see your rooms, items, photos, or address. Nothing is uploaded.
Data we do not collect
We do not collect, and this version of the app does not send to us:
- Name, email, phone number, or account credentials (there is no account)
- Precise or coarse location
- Contacts, health, financial accounts, or government IDs
- Analytics events, advertising IDs, or crash reports
- Your photos, inventory backup, or PDF
Camera and photo-library access are optional. They are used to attach item and receipt pictures you choose, and to photograph a serial plate so the app can read the serial on this device. OCR never uploads the photo or the text. Truventory does not record audio. It does not browse the web.
In-app purchase
Truventory Pro (truventory_pro_yearly, $15 USD/year) is an auto-renewing
subscription sold through Apple or Google. They process payment under their terms. Truventory
stores only a local boolean that the 15-item cap is off and Save/Share PDF is enabled on that
device. We do not receive your card number. Truventory Pro is not an insurance product.
Cancel in your store account’s subscriptions settings.
Restore purchases asks the store whether this store account already has
truventory_pro_yearly, then re-applies the local flag. Pro stays with the store
account. Restoring a backup file does not grant Pro.
Sharing and exports
Nothing is shared with other users. There is no social graph.
If you tap Move to a new phone, Share backup,
Save PDF, or Share PDF, a file you created is written to
Downloads (Android) or the app documents folder (iOS), or sent through the share sheet to a
destination you pick. Truventory does not transmit that file to us and does
not file it as a claim. A .truventory backup includes photos so you can move to a
new phone (older .byroom backups still restore); a PDF is for sharing, not restoring.
Children
Truventory is a general-audience utility (intended age rating 4+ / Everyone). It is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children, because it does not collect personal information off the device.
Retention and deletion
Data lives on the device until you delete items, rooms, or the app. Uninstalling Truventory removes the local database and stored photos. There is no cloud copy.
Third parties
- Apple and Google operate their app stores and in-app purchase systems.
- The camera, photo picker, and share sheet are operating-system features.
- Serial-number text recognition uses Google ML Kit on the device. The plate photo and recognized text are not sent to Google, to us, or to any other server for OCR.
This version does not embed advertising, analytics, or crash-reporting SDKs.
Cloud
This version has no cloud backup and no account. Inventory stays on this phone. Transfer it with a backup file you save yourself.
Insurance disclaimer
Truventory is a personal inventory record. It does not file insurance claims, does not partner with insurers, and does not guarantee that an insurer will accept the export or pay a claim.
